Owned by the Chef’s Son in Law and the Chef herself, SOFRA is a family owned-and-run restaurant.  Chef Lida, a native Albanian with 15 years of culinary experience in Greece, brings her 25 years of overall experience on your table. She prepares homemade food fresh every day, from bread to meat and fish dishes. Our plates are created by only premium high quality full of flavor ingredients. Sofra was a low round wooden table used as a dining table in many regions in the Balkans, before 20th century. Gathering around the sofra, it wasn’t just about dining, it was about coming close and connecting with loved ones, discussing and singing, in a circle, where all are seen as equal, and where guests blend in and become part of the family. We are bringing those exact colors of Balkan hospitality and flavors of Balkan cuisine in the heart of New York, and because there is so much to explore, we bring exiting specials weekly!
